For as long as she can remember she has had a passion for hair, beauty, and her hometown of Bayonne, NJ.  Although Carlene's path to the beauty industry was not a straight road, she eventually made her passion a reality.

In 1998, she graduated Highschool from Saint Dominic Academy, in Jersey City NJ, and in September of 98 she left her hometown to attend Sacred Heart University in Connecticut.  Carlene soon realized that this was not the road she wanted to follow. She enrolled in Cosmetology  school in Connecticut and began her Journey into the World of Hair and Beauty. After graduating from Cosmetology school and working in Greenwich, Connecticut, her love for her hometown led her back to Bayonne, NJ.

Few years later, in  2000, Carlene bought a Hair Salon in Bayonne and  has since made it her own with her sense of style, education and keeping up on the cutting edge in the world of beauty.  In 2019, Carlene saw Bayonne, NJ on the rise and noticed their was an amazing Market that was missing.  That is when she visualized and eventually opened Advanced Cosmesis Med Spa with her partner Dr Angelo Caprio.  With a focus on values, high quality services and treatments, safety, and a calm and comfortable vibe they have created a prominent and thriving business in Bayonne. From what we can tell, this is just the beginning.

Carlene and her husband, Keith Makowski, live and work in Bayonne. Carlene is the owner of Hair Cutting Plus and AC MED SPA, Keith is the Principal Of Lincoln Community School in Bayonne. They have always had pride in their hometown and are devoted to making Bayonne a great community to live and raise a family. They have two boys together, Joseph who is 13 and Jack who is 9. They are very involved in their community and are committed to the success of their hometown.
